Dave is a seasoned professional with a passion for craftsmanship and a lifelong dedication to home improvement. Dave's journey began at a young age, where he cultivated his skills alongside his father, mastering the intricacies of home repairs and renovations.

At just 18 years old, Dave's entrepreneurial spirit led him to purchase his first house, a fixer-upper that ignited his passion for working with his hands. Through unwavering determination and relentless effort, Dave transformed the rundown property into a home, marking the beginning of a career in the industry.

Following his passion, Dave pursued formal training as an electrician, a decision that would shape the course of his professional life. Together with his father, Steve, they founded a successful electrical company, earning a reputation for excellence in a wide range of projects across the South East.

As Dave's expertise expanded, so did his scope of work. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, he ventured into audio-visual (AV) systems, alarms, CCTV, and networking, delivering top-notch solutions for residential and commercial properties alike.

Dave and Steve’s work caught the attention of Holbrook, a reputable company with whom he they had sub contracted for on various projects. Recognizing the potential Holbrook proposed a merger & Dave and Steve agreed, forming what is now known as Holbrook Engineering Ltd.

Despite his professional success, Dave's passion for hands-on projects remained unwavering. He embarked on a personal endeavor of monumental proportions – the restoration of a Grade II listed church into a stunning family home. Alongside his wife, Interior Designer Melissa, Dave poured years of hard work and careful planning into the project, gathering attention from national and local media outlets.

Proud of their achievement yet eager for new experiences, the family made the decision to sell their cherished home, marking the beginning of another exciting chapter. They relocated to the picturesque coastal town of Broadstairs in 2019, where they now raise their young family.

While still a partner at Holbrook Engineering, Dave desired a more hands-on approach to his work, closer to home. Thus, MyHandyManDave was born. Passionate about variety and diversity in his craft, Dave embraces every type of job with enthusiasm, bringing his expertise, dedication, and personal touch to every project he undertakes. Hearing so many stories about difficulties to get someone to turn up and even quote the smaller jobs in the area Dave saw the opportunity to provide a reliable and honest local service.
